I want to level a so called duel wielding “Fury” barb. And I was wondering what is the best and fast attack speed weapon type? I was also wondering what are some good moves to go along with that, AoE wise. Please reply back and thank you. =)
Hi Austin,
A couple points to make here:
1) Once you get into Inferno and possibly even Hell, you may really want to consider switching to a 1-handed configuration with a shield. Will make your life a lot easier.
2) For the dual wield config, the current top 1-hander is the Arch Axe, with a top DPS of 285 and 1.3 attacks per second. With 2 of these, the right magic stats and and your 15% dual wield weapon bonus, you’ll definitely be a force to be reckoned with. Even with lesser weapons, you’ll be a fury-generating machine so you’re going to get the most mileage out of high damage, high fury cost abilities. Hammer of the Ancients and Whirlwind are two of your best options for Fury spenders. Add Frenzy into the mix as your Fury generator and your attack speed/Fury generation will be through the roof (Just don’t get hit!)
Hello,
I was wondering, as I’m currently leveling a barbarian on D3, and I was wondering, what difference would a 2h barbarian have? since most 2h weapons wield the same damage as an 1h tho slower, ofcourse min damage is higher, but still since most people recomment me using a shield and 1h as I will be using it in Inferno etc.
Just wondering what your intake is on a 2h weapon next to Dual wield/ 1h shield combo.
Keep up the good work, my monk rocks thanks to your guidance!
Hey Thomas,
With a 2H weapon you’ll end up doing quite a bit of damage but will be sacrificing ancillary stats and survivability as a result. If you’re playing solo in Inferno Mode, I really wouldn’t recommend the 2-hander. If you’ve got a group, on the other hand, the story could change depending on the makeup.
I’m glad your monk is kicking butt!
