In the Diablo 3 Monk Leveling Build Guide Part 2, we took a look at which skills to use while leveling from 11-20. In Part 3, we will move on to cover the skills offered between levels 21 and 30.
* UPDATE: Part 3 of this Monk Leveling build is now updated with the latest information from the final release of Diablo III.
Monk Leveling Build: Levels 21-30
At this point, you’ve gotten used to using your monk skills and have undoubtedly found the best combinations of these abilities that work well in each of the many types of situations you find yourself encountering. Now, we will add the last few skills to this power leveling build and prepare your monk for the trials that await him in the harder difficult modes of Diablo 3.
Below are the best monk skills you should be using by the time you reach level 30:
Active Monk Skill – Mantra of Conviction or Mantra of Healing (Mantras)
Here we are going to be replacing your trusty heal, Breath of Heaven. If you find that you’re fights have been going well and you’ve been able to easily maintain a comfortable amount of Life, then go with Mantra of Conviction. Mantra of Conviction lasts for 3 minutes and causes all enemies within 20 yards to take 12% increased damage. If, however, you find that you would still like a bit more in the healing and survivability department, then go with Mantra of Healing. Mantra of Healing will heal you for 1240 Life per second for the first 3 seconds and 310 every second after that.
Best Skill Rune - (None available for levels 21-30)
Active Monk Skill 5 – Seven-Sided Strike (Spirit Spender)
Continue using Seven-Sided Strike, but be sure to add your new skill rune!
Best Skill Rune - Sudden Assault
Sudden Assault allows you to teleport instantly to the enemies you will be attacking and also increases the damage done from 777% up to 1007%, thus making an already awesome skill even awesomer. (Yeah, spell check didn’t think that was a word either…)
Passive Monk Skill 3 – Exalted Soul
For your third and final monk passive, I recommend picking up the Exalted Soul skill. This passive simply increases your spirit by an additional 100 points, giving you a grand total of 300 spirit. This increase in spirit will really allow you to unleash instant hell on your enemies when entering a fight with a full globe of spirit.
This concludes the Diablo 3 Monk Leveling Build Guide. I really hope that I’ve been able to help get you on the road to faster, easier leveling with your monk.

Note: while this monk leveling build represents what I feel is the most effective spec to use while leveling your Diablo 3 monk, it’s important that the skills that you ultimately pick mesh well with your gaming style and preferences. Not every build is perfect for the way every gamer likes to play, so be sure to explore other variations that interest you and let me know how they work!
